Overview

James Rodgers, the older brother of Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers, plays with a similar style to 'Quizz, although he works mostly out of the slot and in the return game. He is undersized at 5'7" 180 pounds, but he runs with strong balance and overcomes most of his deficiencies by playing fast and smart. He has late-round value to a team that needs a returner and an option in the pass game. Rodgers broke his leg before taking a redshirt and coming back for a fifth year, so it remains to be seen if he can fully recover from an injury that left him limited throughout much of his last year in school.

Analysis

Strengths

James is a quick athlete who gets the most out of his small frame. Tough to bring down and has a great sense of where he is on the field. Quick off the line and doesn't "false step," but has some slight issues displaying that same quickness in and out of his breaks in-route. Reliable across the middle, reliable in the run game to aggressively block, and overall shows up on every play. Could be serviceable as a returner.

Weaknesses

The undersized James Rodgers could stand to put on some weight(his brother plays at around 205 pounds), but he doesn't want to get too big and lose the quickness that makes him effective. Will have to prove he is fully recovered from a knee surgery, and his small size will never leave him. Will have to consummately work to overcome obstacles at the next level.
