Overview

Sweezy is a big defensive line prospect who's versatility is the key to his draft value. He could play a 3 tech defensive tackle position within a 4-3, but by the time draft day rolls around, he could have already convinced a 3-4 team to take a shot on him as a defensive end. He could almost be considered a poor man's J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans and has the type of competitiveness to come in and hopefully pressure for the type of playing time Watt commanded. As a defensive end in a 3-4, he could be drafted in the late rounds but will pressure for a spot on a 53-man roster regardless.

Analysis

Strengths

Sweezy is a decent athlete but is somewhat stiff in his movements. He has good initial quickness off the ball and is generally able to read blocking schemes and disrupt plays. He is a very effortful player, and this is the key to his success sideline to sideline. He could even be a potential candidate to move outside and maul tight ends before the play, as he has shown the flexibility to pull out of a 3-point stance and hand fight with faster players.

Weaknesses

Sweezy is a stiff mover and could have trouble trying to play inside in the NFL. In a 3-4 scheme he could be more of a gap-filler, which is where he likely has more value. He struggles to get off blocks inside and make anything for himself. He is more of a motor/strength player on the line than he is naturally athletic, and this could be exposed early on in his career.
