Overview

Peek is a good-sized tight end with soft, natural hands and limited speed and acceleration to stretch the secondary down the middle. He is effective as a zone receiver and does a good job of reading the coverage and settling into the soft spots to provide a good target for his quarterback. He can extend to catch the ball outside of his frame and generally puts the ball away quickly, but he does not show much elusiveness after the catch. He is a competitive blocker who shows good technique and effort and adequate strength as a blocker. He will no doubt improve his blocking strength with age and time in the NFL but will never be much of a downfield target due to his limited speed. Good candidate for a team that needs a backup tight end who can excel in blocking.

Analysis

Strengths

Peek is tall with a muscular build. Powerful and willing blocker who gets his hands inside defender's pads and generates a good push. Reads coverage and shows the ability to find underneath holes in zone. Uses strong hands to catch the ball away from his body and secures it quickly.

Weaknesses

Does not have the speed to stretch the field in the passing game. Lacks the burst off the line and in and out of breaks to gain separation in man coverage. Limited athleticism prevents him from being a threat to make people miss in space after the catch. Slow feet will make it difficult for him to block more-athletic defenders at the next level.
