2013: Did not play after being dismissed from the team after conditional guilty plea for his role in attempting to cover up rape of unconscious student. 2012: Played in and started 13 games. 2011: Played in 13 games and started nine. 2010: Redshirted. Misc.: At the Sept. 13, 2013 hearing, Deputy District Attorney General Tom Thurman said Boyd was called to the dormitory of another player, where he found the woman unconscious and partially clothed in the hallway. The prosecutor said Boyd helped carry the woman to the bed of a fellow player and then left. Sentenced to 11 months and 29 days probation. His record will be cleared if he successfully completes probation.

Excellent frame. Chews up ground with long strides. Controls his body and uses size to his advantage. Good hands -- extends to catch off his body. Adjusts to throws. Good potential as a blocker -- can engage and stalk. Good work ethic.

Average burst off the line. Lacks elite top-end speed to separate vertically. Not strong to beat the jam. Shows some hip stiffness and is fairly straight-linish. Has to be hit in stride to pick up chunk yards after the catch.

Draft Projection

Rounds 6-7

Bottom Line

Big, slender, West Coast, short-to-intermediate possession receiver who could compete for a job as a No. 4 or No. 5. Having sat the year out, Boyd?s performance at the combine and in workouts will determine draft standing.
