Overview

Linnenkohl has the experience, enough size and ability to contribute as a backup lineman at the next level but is unlikely to develop into a starter down the road. As a run blocker, won't get a ton of movement and isn't overly comfortable in space but does a good job of maintaining once locked on. In pass protection, can hold his ground against the bull rush but isn't a great matchup when squared off with athletic interior pass rushers. Shows good football IQ in pass pro but needs to polish up his run-blocking recognition skills. Linnenkohl is a seventh rounder or rookie free agent.

Analysis

Strengths

Linnenkohl possesses a solid, wide base. Displays good awareness in pass protection. Capable of thwarting the bull rush. When positioning is sound, does a good job of sustaining as a run blocker. Plays hard and until the whistle. Very experienced. Very durable and has played through pain. Good intangibles.

Weaknesses

Does not have NFL-average size or athleticism. Struggles to mirror gap-penetrating defensive tackles. Doesn't fire off the ball and often loses the initial positioning battle in the running game. Rarely gets movement off the line of scrimmage. Not comfortable moving to the second level. Doesn't show a mean streak.
