Top Prospect
In 1994, one year before entering the NFL, Sapp was a consensus first-team All-American and won a slew of prestigious awards at the collegiate level including the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player in college).

The one and only...
On October 22, 1995, Sapp recorded his first and only defensive touchdown – a five-yard interception returned for a touchdown off of Jeff George. Unfortunately, the Buccaneers lost the contest 24-21.

Seven straight
In 1997, Sapp made the first of his seven straight Pro Bowl appearances. He also was awarded four straight first-team All-Pro honors from 1999-2002.

No one better
In 1999, Sapp reached the height of his personal achievement as a professional football player, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors behind his 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and 27 tackles. Sapp and the Buccaneers had the third ranked defense in the NFL and reached the NFC championship in 1999.

A force to be reckoned with
During the 2000 season, Sapp recorded a career-best 16.5 sacks. Even today, that is an incredible number from the defensive tackle position.

Moves like Sapp
On September 21, 2003, Sapp caught the first receiving touchdown of his career and performed the infamous touchdown dance he dubbed "the Beyonce."

Top of the world
The Buccaneers defeated the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII, giving Sapp one of the last pieces of hardware he was missing in his storied career. Sapp even contributed a sack to the Bucs dominating defensive performance.

No slowing down
In his 12th NFL season, Sapp managed to record 10 sacks for the Oakland Raiders. Sapp found ways to be dominant year in and year out, which helped make him an easy choice as a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2013.
